The US government asked for donations to help the hurricane victims in new orleans. I wonder if people are really gonna give, after all, the US is the richets and most powerful country on earth, spending billions on wars here and there. But when a avoidable and predictable tragedy occurs, the US asks for money.... kinda strange, maybe some african countries will donate Rolling Eyes

Maybe it is time for the US to sign that Kyoto protocol..... that might help a bit in the future.

The way officials handled the hurricane katrina crisis is a national shame... over 15,000 people stuck in a building without water or food or toilets.... for about 5 days Shocked it is shamefull especially knowing that something could have been done force all bus companies from neighbouring states and cities to go and pick up the poor people in that convention center, and pick up while on the way there food and water from grocery stores and restaurants. But no, it's mostly poor people there, they don't pay that much taxes anyway. If they die, it's not that big of a deal.
The people who were supposed to be leaders failed.
I thought these kinds of stories only happen in "third world countries", well maybe it does, if you add the US to the list.

Shame, shame, shame.....
