Hello! I'm planning a trip to Costa Rica Dec. 18-27 and I'm looking for some fellow adventurers to join me... 15 to be exact. The trip is a 10 day all-inclusive expedition and includes:
* Whitewater rafting – 2 rivers
* Rainforest backpacking/horseback ride
* Family villa experience
* Cultural service project
* Waterfall rappel
* Technical tree-climb
* Traditional sweat lodge
* Zip line canopy tour
* 2 ˝ Beach days
* Wildlife tour
I'm happy to send you additional information if you are interested. It's going to be a great trip (adults only, please) and a chance to make new friends. _________________ Stacey Pokluda

costa rica view
Costa Rica is a republic in Central America with a coastline on the Pacific Ocean to the west and to the east, a coastline on the Caribbean Sea. Costa Rica is a destination waiting to be explored with fantastic beaches, a diverse array of plant and animal life and an abundance of protected forests and reserves. First founded by Christopher Columbus in 1502 this fantastic destination is again being invaded, this time by the British tourist eager to soak up the extraordinary atmosphere and unbelievable adventures to be had in this exciting country. You can feast your eyes on an amazing collection of species of orchids or witness the nesting site of the magnificent Leatherback Turtles.
Costa Rica holidays offer something for everyone, families and couples alike, will enjoy the fantastic beaches or exploring the rain forests or viewing the famous Arenal volcano! Costa Rica has three main tourist areas i.e. Gulf of Papagayo, Playa Conchal and Tamarindo all diverse but with excellent ingredients for the perfect long haul holiday.

December is early in the Costa Rican dry season. The western and central regions of Costa Rica have little rain and mosly sunny weather. What little rain falls usually comes as afternoon or evening showers.
On the Caribbean side of the central mountains it's wetter especially in the northeast where polar air pushes across the Gulf of Mexico picking up heat and moisture then depositing it as continous days of rain refered to locally as temporales del Atlantico.
The beaches and lowlands experience high temperatures in the seventies to mid-eighties and low temperatures in the sixties to mid seventies. Mid elevations (e.g. around San José) are 5-10 degrees cooler and temperatures at high elevations (Monteverde and Chirripo) can be 20 or even 30 degrees lower. _________________ Mark my words ~ Eat well three times a day at virginia bed and breakfast inn.
