cost of living for budget tourist in hong-kong china

ok, the plane tickets are purchased and we leave for this great trip on August 15. The big question now is the cost of living on a budget in Hong Kong.....

some say that hong-kong is very expensive and some say it's extremely expensive? so i'd like to know which one is it!

i travel with my 13 year old daughter.

If you stick to the "budget travellers' budget meaning you eat at or around markets, no fancy restaurant, youth hostels and public transportation, you should do OK.

Hong-Kong is not really more expensive than any big city in America or Europe.

Though you must clear a misconception that electronics are less expensive.... you need to compare like anywhere else; and watch out not to let yourself go on a shopping fury! Twisted Evil
