Hello
We will be visiting Chiang Mai very soon (for 3 nights, 4ish days) and would like to do two thing for sure. See some elephants, and learn to cook the Thai way.

Can anyone recommend a place to go and see/intetract with elepahants. Not wanting to see them doing daft tricks etc....just being treated well where our money will go into improving their lives. Preferably a 1 day trip only...no overnight stays as we have our accom in CM already booked and paid for.

Secondly, would like to attend a cookery school to learn some real Thai cooking skills. Somewhere in a nice loction with not too many students would be good.

Lastly, any ideas what we could do on our third day in CM ?

Any ideas would be great. Many Thanks all.

The most natural place to see elephants (where they do no tricks or anything) is at the Elephant Nature Park (google it)

the most authentic cooking experience is at the Thai Farm Cooking School (www.thaifarmcooking.com)

for a good list of chiang mai attractions you can check out this TAT contest site cuz they are about to send a team on an all expense paid trip to chaing mai that includes the top attractions: http://ultimatethailandexplorers.com/no_cache/destinations/chiang-mai/
