Budget camping in Hawaii for 5$ per night

Hello traveler friends!

Recently a friend of mine talked to me about his camping trip in beautiful Hawaii. Sure the views and activities were lots of fun but as a father of 3 children with sometimes a limited budget the financial cost of any trip is my first concern.

In other words: how much does it all cost?

My dear friend simply blew my mind away with his answer! He said: it's 5$ a night per campsite.

Now that is some budget travel info i like to hear but sounds a little hard to believe. So he went on explaining that it's all true and he had a marvelous time and missed nothing, the experience was all worth it.

So when i got home, i immediately went after some more information about camping in Hawaii. Sur i found alot of web sites titled camping in Hawaii but really it was about private and sometimes expensive campgrounds but mainly sites trying to sell hotel rooms....

So it took my a few minutes to find some credible information about the 5$ camping and it came from "Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources: Division of State Parks: Fees and Permits"

So it is true, you really can go to Hawaii without having to leave your shirt! Budget accommodation is then possible! And for a family of 5 that is valuable information!
